Nepal Pestalozzi Foundation was established in 2000 as PAHAD ASSOCIATION by Ex-Gurkha of British Army, alumni and house-mothers from Pestalozzi International Village Trust (PIVT) then Pestalozzi Children Village Trust (PCVT), teachers from Budhanilkantha School.

Nepal Pestalozzi Foundation was formally registered in 2013. The main objective was to continue PAHAD in the name under Pestalozzi. We have an All-alumni Executive Committee since 2016 however we still have a valuable support from non-alumni senior executives to form an Advisory board.

A handful of Nepalese received Pestalozzi education in the 70’s and 80’s through PCVT but it was only after the early 90’s that Pestalozzi made a real presence in Nepal. Till date, more than 150 Nepali students have benefitted from Pestalozzi’s support. About 80 students, representing various socio-economic and geographical backgrounds, are currently being supported in various institutions across the country. With majority of the scholars in Nepal either finishing college, in college or just out of school, Pestalozzi’s presence in Nepal is relatively young. Despite this, Pestalozzi’s support in Nepal has yielded impressive results. A significant number of Nepalese Pestalozzi scholars have been able to continue their post-secondary education by securing placements in prestigious institutions (such as Oxford, Yale, MIT, Harvard, Penn, University of Brighton, LSE, University of Reading, etc) in the USA and the UK. Many others have been able to pursue their academic interest in reputed institutions in Nepal and India to study economics, engineering, accounting, finance, medicine, sociology and social work.
