Position: Research Coordinator
Department / Location: Kathmandu
Duration: 154 days (Spanning over a period of 8 months, March – October 2024)
Reports to: Research Manager
Project: Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) Supply Readiness Assessment in Nepal
Overall responsibilities: The Research Coordinator will work closely with the Research Manager and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the assessment project. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for stakeholders’ coordination and facilitation of meetings, stakeholders mapping, desk review, oversee data collection, organising workshop and report writing. Research Coordinator will also oversee and coordinate field-level assessment activities. The Research Coordinator will adhere to Helen Keller Intl research ethics.
Deliverables:
- Prepare a list of stakeholders at federal, provincial, and local level for supply readiness assessment.
- Prepare an implementation plan for supply readiness assessment.
- Consolidate all federal, provincial, and local level IFA knowledge.
- Review key policy documents (such as National Health policy, National nutrition policy and strategy, Nepal Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health Road Map, etc.) with mention of IFA/MMS guidelines.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders for scheduling in-person/Online interviews.
- Conduct interviews in collaboration with external partner/s.
- Organize the project kick-off and dissemination workshop.
- Conduct field visits where required to collect provincial/local level data.
- Support synthesis of findings and prepare a slide deck.
- Maintain detailed assessment records and documentation.
- Work collectively and collaboratively with external partner, government agency and other stakeholder to execute study
- Develop report required for Helen Keller Intl, Government, and external partners after incorporating feedback
Qualifications and experiences:
- Master’s degree in public health, nursing, nutrition, or health economics with at least 5 years of experience in research-related activities.
- Experience in conducting qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Experience working with Nepal’s Health system.
- Experience working in supply chain analysis (preferred)
Other skills:
- Excellent written and spoken Nepali and English language skills
- An ability to maintain balance when under stress.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
The consultant position is expected to travel 60% of the time out of Kathmandu during the job.
