Job Description
Position: Human Resource Specialist
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary HR advisor for management and staff, providing clear and consistent guidance on all HR-related matters

Own the full recruitment cycle, bringing in the right talent at the right time through a sharp and structured selection process

Build strong employee relations by addressing any concerns and grievances with fairness, consistency, and professionalism

Ensure national staff records are accurately maintained in SAP-HR and reflect real-time organizational changes on a monthly basis
-
Drive a seamless payroll process and oversee compensation and benefits administration that reflects fairness and consistency with organizational policies
-
Manage employee health insurance schemes and maintain strong working relationships with service providers
-
Uphold full compliance with labor laws, GIZ national personnel guidelines, and internal HR policies across all operations

Develop and deliver meaningful onboarding, induction, and training programs that set people up to perform from day one

Partner with management to identify capacity gaps and build a development roadmap that grows people and strengthens the organization
Required qualification and experience:
-
Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field; candidates with a legal background or law degree will be given preference
-
Minimum 5 years of professional HR experience in a similar role, preferably within an international development organization

Strong knowledge of national labour and social law
-
Experience in a multi-cultural, international setting is preferred
-
Proven track record in organization, coordination, and stakeholder management
-
Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Nepali are required; proficiency in German is an added advantage

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate complex HR matters clearly to diverse audiences

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural teams
-
Strong advisory and problem-solving skills with a proactive, service-oriented approach
