Man evolving from early age
Evolution of Remote Working amidst and Post-Corona

“Your punctuality in the workplace is one of the KPIs to measure employee rendition, allegiance.” But this statement has been splashed away as hectic work schedules from 9 to 5 in a traditional workplace under the direct supervision of supervisors have been migrated away to the ‘Work from Home’ trends thanks to elevated technology and the exposure to hashtags like #DigitalNomad and #WorkFromAnywhere on social media.

The solution for the employees at the time of ghastly illness called Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic now has been remote working or WorkFromHome. Buckling up to go back to the history of remote working before it has set up its exercise all over the world in such an altitudinous manner than ever before, the inaugural iterations of the modern offices began in America with the harnessing of the innovations such as telephone, telegraph, typewriter, etc. The pioneer of WorkFromHome trends can be credited before the Industrial Revolution with skilled potters, blacksmiths, carpenters, etc. who had their own office spaces commonly known as shops, at their residences. The concatenation of Personal Computer, Internet, Broadband, etc. in the 90s paved the boulevard for remote working aka virtual working.

Even the evolution of remote working dated back to the 20th century, its application has been widely used to a greater extent amidst Coronavirus pandemic. People criticizing remote working as an excuse for dedication to work in the workplace are now persuaded that remote working is only an efficacious solution at the time of pandemic like this. The research often shows that companies maintain higher retention rates and waste less money training recruits. Employees have their schedules of work dedicated fully on work with better mental and physical health resulting in higher engagement rates and augmented productivity levels.

In a survey conducted by Airtasker of 1004 full-time employees, 505 of whom were remote employees who performed additional work. According to Global Workplace Analytics, 37% of remote employees would take a 10% pay cut to continue working from home. The mobile work tools, virtual reality conferencing, and AI managing remote staffs unshackling the employees from location dependency have been proven lagniappes at the time of the pandemic.

Avoidance of assemblage of multi-people, hand rubbing with good sanitization, weaseling out of sick people, and maintaining physical distancing have been the major ground rules to debar the outburst of Coronavirus and social distancing work or remote working is at its peachy keen application. People may have fear of going to workplaces even after the cessation of a dreadful pandemic. Mark Gilbreath, founder and CEO of Liquid Space had mentioned that 30% of the enterprise workplace portfolio would be flexible by 2030. And the aftermath of Coronavirus will be the same, tremendous operation of remote working.

The future is AI and digitization now. The world is waltzing into the new epoch of hypermobility accompanied by a plethora of high-techs impinging the world even after the pandemic ends. It’s obvious that remote working will be embracing a high-tech era of productivity and higher engagement rates at work.
