Nepal's No.1 Gaurishankar VDC, located in Dolakha district, is one of the villagers established in accordance with Sub-section (1) of the Constitution 1949 of Nepal. The name of this village comes from the famous Gaurishankar Himal of Nepal and Dolakha district. The famous Chico-Rolpa glacier also falls within the geography of this village
Gaurishankar Rural Municipality is located in Dolakha District, Province No. 3. It is a local body formed in accordance with Article 295, sub-article 3, of the Constitution of Nepal. It is also home of Mount Gaurishankar, by which the rural municipality derives its name, as well as notable Tsho-Rolpa Glacial Lake, a site to behold on its own as well a popular tourist hotspot.
