1. Nepal has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to wards the cost of Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project (KVWSIP) Additional Financing (L-3255) for improving the delivery of inclusive and sustainable water supply in Kathmandu Valley. Part of the proceeds is intended to fund eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Expression of Interest is issued. 2. The Project Implementation Directorate (PID) of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) intends to hire a Water Supply and Commissioning Expert (National) as individual consultant in accordance with the procedure ofAsian Development Bank's (ADB's) Guidelines on the Use of Consultants, 2013. 3. The scope of consulting services of the Water Supply and Commissioning Expert will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following items: . Lead the entire commissioning team in flushing, testing and disinfection of the entire system (BDS, SRTs and DNIs). Interacting with different stakeholders, including the officials of KVWSMB, KUKL and KUKL branch offices and PID as required to gain an understanding of the system. Work closely with Commissioning Expert (International) and DSC-05 and DSC 07 during commissioning of BDS, SRTs and DNIs . To ensure that all necessary tests, specified in the contract documents for any relevant sections, for the Pipes, SRTs, Valves, other Fittings and Accessories and Appurtenances are conducted before the system is put to service . Ensure that the network, SRTs and accessories are tested, disinfected and commissioned under a systematic approach following a methodological planning and it's executionas per disinfection requirements and standard practices • Involve in conducting job training of technical staff for O&M during commissioning of the schemes and need identification including broad content design for further training requirements and providing guidance to development of Checklists and SOPs for future repair and maintenance • Prepare/update template for step-wise NRW Commissioning Plan to be prepared by the contractor for each of the DMAs of the DNI work 4. The service to be provided by the Consultant is estimated to 24 person-months for Water Supply and Commissioning Expert on continuous basis, it is expected that the consulting service will commence from 1 November 2020.
5. The Terms of References for Consultant is accessible from ADB's consulting services recruitment notice (http:/csrn.adb.org). Interested individual consultants are encouraged to submit their E01 through ADB's consultant management system (registration and access through http:/csrn.adb.org or http:/csm.adb.org. The same information (detailed request for E01 and Terms of Reference) can also be downloaded from the Project's web site www.kuklpid.org.np. The interested Consultants must provide description of completed similar assignments, work experience in the specified areas and relevant skills to show their technical and managerial competence to perform the service.
6. To ensure that all data required to assess for short-listing are obtained, interested consultant(s) are required to provide information followingADB's standard EOI form.
7. Interested Consultants can either submit their Eols through ADB's consultant management system or in a hard copy to PID should be delivered no later than 17.00 hrs (Local Time) on or before 7 October 2020. Late submission will not be accepted.
8. The interested Consultant(s) may obtain further information from: KUKL, The Project Implementation Directorate (PID), Tankaprasad Ghumtimarg, Anamnagar, and Kathmandu
9. PID reserves the right to reject any or all of the Eols at any stage without assigning any reason whatsoever and without incurring any liability to the consultants.
