    Sridevi, a famous name in Indian movie industry, is a Superstar whose introduction, is not required for those who are the fans of Indian movies. She is not between us at the moment but her career achievements and success stories are inspiring and influential to many women.Born on 13 August, 1963 in Tamil Nadu, Sridevi started her career as a child artist with South Indian movie at the age of 4. She started struggling for her career from a very young age and became the superstar of the acting industry. In a male dominated industry, she took her stand rather than just being committed to a man’s love interest.
   Sridevi started to appear in adult characters from 1979 and performed in more than 60 Hindi movies, 58 Tamil, 62 Telugu and 20 Malayam. Some of her successful movies that brought her to the limelight included Himmatwala, Mawali, Naya Kadam, Mr. India, Chaadni, Chaalbaaz, Nagina, Sadma, Judaai and many more. Regarded as the "first female superstar" of Indian cinema, she was the recipient of various awards, including the National Film Award, the Nandi Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, the Kerala State Film Award, three Filmfare Awards, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, and three Filmfare Awards South.
   No matter what life made her do, she never lost her spark and always remained famous among her fans. She married with already married man, Boney Kapoor and faced difficulties in her personal life. She faced the news of her alleged affairs with many of the famous actors of her time.  Due to her personal life issues she had to reject many opportunities that came her way. With the film producer, Boney Kapoor, she had two children.
   In a career that spanned five decades, she was recognized for her portrayals of women in challenging situations, and she has appeared in a range of genres, from humorous comedies to epic dramas. Sridevi ranked as the highest-paid woman in the Indian entertainment industry in the 1980s and early 1990s.In 2013, she was awarded with the Padma Shri award, India’s fourth highest civilian award. Sridevi was also voted 'India's Greatest Actress in 100 Years' in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted in 2013 on the occasion of the centenary of Indian cinema.

   The career of such a great acting legend came to an end, when Sridevi was found dead in her guest room on 24 February 2018 at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel,  in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The shocking loss of such a great Indian Star has definitely created the tragic situation among her fans but she is and will always be regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actresses in the history of Indian cinema.
